Sad news, unexpectedly stumbled upon this week, brought back lots of fond childhood memories from Tea Tree Gully days. Family friend, Rom Kurlavicius, passed away last month, aged 102. His wife, the much-loved Wally predeceased him by about two years in 2023, aged 94. Wally was a volunteer at St. David’s church and she and Rom looked after Janatha and me in July 1973 after Papa died, and mum had to go to Melbourne.
