I have a new pet on Macca. His name is Rupert ??? A nightmare putting a collar on him ?Walks would take ages, too!

I’m in a Disney movie! ???
September 12. Unofficial station photos. Too much snow to work out who everyone is, so another will be taken at a later date. I’m the tall one at the back (above).

September 17. How is this bird? It is getting a little close for me. Wondering if I am going to die so it can eat me up! Huge in size. ?
September 29. Busy firefighting today ? – training…Oh, the memories will be amazing. ??

October 23. 1st penguin chick I spotted today. Happy birthday ?so, so small, I nearly missed seeing it.
?Oh, there are twins in the nest…Amazing ?
November 4. My trip down island this week. This is Matt, he is one of our plumbers here and is also a LSA for the doctor as well. Nice fellow. ??

(Weather good?) Yes, it was for that minute, even got some windburn on the water. Froze to death though. -2 windchill.

November 15.

The chicks are huge now, and the king penguins arrived on the wrong beach. Size comparisons (between) the baby seals and an elephant seal and me. They are so cute (the weaners), can’t wait to go swimming with them. ?? Another wonder of Macca xxx

December 2. My Trip To Green Gorge Hut

Green Gorge Hut. 17km down island…7 hour walk. Oh boy. This was my week, going south to explore and experience the wonders of Macca. It was amazing. ?

  • Chook farm, dairy, feedlot all in one. Noisy too. Sleeping at night is horrendous. Glad to be back on station… LOL

December 8.

Wow, I have mail… Thank you. Astrolabe ice breaker ship (top left in the distance) arrived at 6am, transfer of new expedition personnel, cargo and mail. Woo hoo… Very slick the French Navy…departure 8:30 am..????

December 9.

Just asked if I would like a cake for my birthday, wow.!!I think, is and will be just as good. So sad to see good friends go, especially the chef. A wonderful person and most exceptional talented individual. ??
